Does this sound like you?

I started providing services via telepractice over 15 years ago. Back then, I didn't know anyone else using telepractice, there were no online forums to connect with other SLPs, and online stores with digital telepractice materials did not exist. So I spent hours and hours creating and customizing materials for each and every client for EVERY session.

Maybe you're already a telepractice SLP, and you do not know how to translate your SLP creativity to providing services online. Or you've hit a wall when it comes to what to do with your clients.

Or are you considering telepractice and want to know where to begin in finding materials to use with your clients?

Wherever you are on your telepractice journey, an important component in telepractice service delivery is keeping your clients motivated and engaged.

What you'll learn...

In this course, you will learn how to find and create appropriate materials to use in your telepractice, including:

  1. Using downloaded files in your telepractice sessions

  2. Using interactive websites in your telepractice sessions

  3. How to quickly (and painlessly) create your own telepractice materials

  4. Where to find both FREE and paid materials

My goal is to answer the question, I have my telepractice clients...now what do I DO with them?

Yes, I Need This!

About me

Adrienne Wallace, MBA, MS, CCC-SLP

Hi, I’m Adrienne, the owner of Online Speech Services. I hold a Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders and an MBA in Business Administration. I’ve been working in telepractice for over 15 years and have had the privilege of training thousands of speech-language pathologists in effective, ethical, and efficient service delivery online.

In my telepractice business, I continue to provide direct services to clients, and I also offer consulting, webinars, and online courses to help SLPs confidently add telepractice to their services—and build businesses that work for them. I’ve developed this course so you do not have to spend hours creating materials like I did when I first got started.

Using Interactive Materials for All Ages

This course is all about finding materials to use with your telepractice clients. Depending on which videoconferencing platform you've chosen, you should be able to screen share websites and allow clients to write/draw on worksheets. This is really how you can make your therapy sessions interactive, fun and engaging for your clients. I've compiled many resources to help you get started and make planning a breeze. What's great about telepractice is that you are not bound by what you have on hand. You have access to the world wide web, which means you have endless opportunities for materials to use with your clients. Let's start by looking at online activities that are interactive. This means you and your clients can click on the live website.

                Using Downloadable Worksheets

Just because you are providing services via telepractice does not mean that you have to throw out your old workbooks and worksheets. There is still a place for worksheets in telepractice, and this section will demonstrate that.

                      Creating Your Own Materials

While there are many free and paid ready-made materials for all of your speech therapy needs, you may still yearn to create your own materials. Maybe you have a unique situation and want to customize a word list for your client. That is perfectly fine! Creating your own activities to use via telepractice does not need to be as time consuming as you may think. I've assembled a few quick and easy ways to create your own interactive materials or worksheets to use via telepractice...even if you're not very creative and don't have a lot of time.

Working With Younger Children and Older Adults

According to ASHA's Telepractice Survey, most SLPs working in telepractice provide services to schools (K-12). However, there are many SLPs in telepractice that work with clients across the lifespan, whether through early intervention, preschool, private practice, or medical settings (e.g., hospitals, rehabilitation centers, etc.). Though most materials presented in this course can be used with individuals of all ages, you may find that you need additional ideas for younger clients or older adults. In this lesson, we'll discuss some easy adaptations that will make the transition to telepractice easier than you may have thought.
